Following the popularity of my cheese ramen noodles and spicy ramen, I am back with yet another effortless and delicious dish made with ramen noodles.

Making a bowl of ramen noodles couldn't be any easier! You can have this dish ready in less than 10 minutes. Perfect for busy weeknights or when you are short on time.

While I used ramen noodles in this recipe, you can use any type of noodles you prefer. Simply prepare the noodles, mix the peanut butter sauce, and toss them together! You have a tasty easy meal ready to enjoy.

The main highlight of this recipe is undoubtedly the peanut butter sauce. It is creamy and savory, with a perfect hint of spice from the sriracha. You can make it extra spicy by adding more sriracha or a bit of chili powder if you prefer.

What makes this Easy Peanut Butter Ramen so good?

Fast: This easy noodle recipe is prepared in under 10 minutes.

Simple: Beginner-friendly and doesn't require any cooking experience.

Versatile: Can be tailored to individual preferences. Use any noodle variety and make it as spicy or mild as you like.

Affordable: These noodles are cost-effective and require only a few basic, inexpensive ingredients.

Ingredients You'll Need

You don't need any uncommon ingredients to make this recipe. Chances are, you already have everything in your kitchen! Here is what you will need to make this peanut butter noodles recipe.

Image showing peanut butter noodles ingredients placed on a white background.

Ramen noodles: use any flavor or kind of ramen noodles you prefer, as we are not using the seasoning packet. Technically this recipe would work well with any noodle you like including instant ramen noodles.

Peanut butter: peanut butter is the star ingredient. Use unsweetened, creamy, natural peanut butter.

Sriracha: Use as much or as little sriracha as you like, depending on how spicy you want your peanut butter noodles to be. If you don't have sriracha, use another neutral hot sauce, sambal oelek, chili paste, chili sauce, chili powder, or crushed chili flakes.

Dark soy sauce: for its deep, salty, rich flavor.

Garlic powder and salt: you can use fresh minced garlic instead of garlic powder.

Honey - balances out the overall flavors. Use maple syrup or other sweeteners like white sugar, brown sugar, or coconut sugar for a vegan option.

Lemon juice: adds some tang to the sauce. Freshly squeezed lemon juice gives the best flavor.

Toasted sesame oil: for some extra depth of flavor. If not available, you can omit this.

Green onion: also called scallion, is used for the onion flavor.

Toasted peanuts: crushed toasted peanuts for some added crunch in every bite.

Fresh red chili (optional, for serving): added at the end for garnish.

Instructions Step By Step

  • Cook the ramen noodles: Fill a pot with water and bring it to a boil; discard the flavor packet, add the ramen noodles, and cook until it's al dente or according to package directions. Be sure to reserve ¼ cup of noodles water before draining the noodles.
  • Make the peanut butter sauce: Whisk peanut butter, sriracha, soy sauce, garlic, honey, lemon juice, toasted sesame oil, and ¼ cup warm noodles water in a large bowl until smooth.

  • Taste and adjust: taste the sauce and adjust the flavor to your liking.
  • Mix in the noodles with the sauce: add drained ramen noodles to the sauce, along with some chopped green onions and crushed peanuts. Toss everything together until the noodles are well coated with the sauce.
  • Garnish and serve: To finish, garnish the dish with additional green onion, crushed peanuts, and chopped red chili (if desired). Serve and enjoy!

Tips for Best Result

Use warm or hot cooked noodle water in the sauce: When making the peanut butter sauce, use some warm or hot cooked noodle water to help thin out the sauce and create a creamier texture. This will also help the sauce better coat the noodles.

Taste and adjust the flavor: After making the peanut butter mixture taste the sauce and adjust the flavor as needed. If required, add more salt, soy sauce, garlic powder, lemon juice, honey, or sriracha to achieve your desired flavor balance.

How to store

I recommend having peanut butter noodles right after they are prepared. However, if you have any remaining, you can store them in an airtight container in the refrigerator. They will stay well for up to three days. To reheat, add a splash of water to loosen up the noodles and then warm them up in a pan on the stovetop or the microwave for a quick meal.

Some Frequently Asked Questions

What type of peanut butter is the best for this recipe?

I recommend using unsweetened, creamy, natural peanut butter for the best results. Peanut butter containing sugars or other ingredients would affect the overall taste and texture of the noodles. Also, creamy peanut butter blends more easily with the other elements than crunchy peanut butter.

How spicy is this?

The suggested amount of sriracha in the recipe will have a noticeable but not overwhelming heat level. However, the heat level can be adjusted according to individual preferences by adding more or less sriracha to the dish. It's important to keep in mind that the spiciness level can also vary depending on the brand of sriracha sauce used. brand of sriracha sauce used.

What other noodles can I use?

This recipe would work well with any noodles you have on hand: soba noodles, udon noodles, rice noodles, egg noodles, spaghetti, or any other type of noodle that you like.

Very easy and delicious! When I make again I will reduce the amount of honey as it was too sweet for me. (Might be just the right sweetness for others!)

After adding up ingredient information I do not think the nutritional/calorie information is anywhere close to correct. While the recipe is delicious, anyone watching calories needs to reevaluate the recipe.

That’s exactly what I was thinking! The noodles alone are close to 500

Delicious, but as others mentioned, it is higher in calories than what is calculated in the recipe, and higher in sodium, otherwise I would have given it 5 stars.
For the honey, I used only 2 teaspoons of agave, and only 1/2 teaspoon of sriracha, and the food diary I use calculated the total recipe at 656 calories! Interestingly enough, the calorie count on the package for the ramen noodles alone (380) is 28 calories more than the calorie count in the recipe. The remaining 276 calories are mostly from the peanut butter and agave syrup. Not only is the calorie count high, even without the flavor packet, the total sodium is over 5.6 grams, which is 97% of my daily recommended allowance, and I used reduced sodium tamari instead of soy sauce. Taking the nutritional information into consideration, it would be better to split this into two servings, and consume it infrequently.

I added some coconut milk and cilantro. And a soft boiled egg. Simply delicious!
