Few words about Turmeric
From ancient times turmeric or haldi has been used for healing many diseases. Hence it is called 'mother of all healing' in Ayurveda. In Ayurveda turmeric is used to balance tridosha (i.e Vata dosha, Pitta dosha, and Kapha dosha), the three energies that govern the function of our body and mind.
The plant is native to the Indian subcontinent. Turmeric root is used both fresh like ginger and in its dried powdered form. It has a warm, earthy, peppery bitter taste.
Turmeric makes an incredibly healing and delicious drink when combined with ginger, cinnamon, lemon juice, and honey.
The turmeric I have used here is fresh from my garden. This fresh turmeric root tea recipe always comes to my rescue, whenever I get hit with a terrible cold. I also love to sip this drink during the cooler months. As it works as a preventive and tastes divine.
The high antioxidant and antibacterial properties of turmeric when combined with the goodness of ginger roots, black pepper, and lime juice assist in reducing the cold and flu symptoms, help to combat infection, clear congestion, bring down inflammation, boost the immune system, relieve sore throat and enhance digestion.

I used this for the body aches and back ache with Covid 19 Omicron strain. It works like a charm. I want to say that the flexibility to use ingredients in the kitchen was fantastic. I certainly did not want to think about shopping. I used fresh tumeric root and it may have boosted the results. I did not sweeten at all and enjoyed.

Thank you. I've been making turmeric tea mixed with green tea for a couple years now since I started growing my own turmeric. I haven't used pepper corns before or always add ginger but will do so next time. My primary reason for growing turmeric was to make my Caribbean hot sauce from a recipe given to me by an old Jamaican friend. My friend said you cannot have hot sauce if you don't have turmeric and he was the best. Now I have the best hot sauce and best fresh turmeric tea from your recipe. Thank you again.
